10th Anniversary

The TCJ family celebrates 10 years. At center - Pastor John Steigerwald.png

It's been 10 years since Teen Challenge Jamaica (TCJ) was founded by Rev. John Stiegerwald.  In October 2007 graduates of the progamme, administrators, staff, supporters and our founder, Pastor John, gathered at the Hilton Kingston to reflect on our successes - and to give God the glory.

We also paused to honour graduates who have been walking free from addiction for five years or more.

Those honoured included:

Pastor John Steigerwald - the founder,
Anthony Richards – presently serving as Executive Director;
Karissa McCarter – former Executive Director,
Andree Aiken – 8 yrs staff service,
Victor Francis – 8 yrs drug free & 7 yrs staff service,
Mavis Solomon – 6yrs staff service,
Basil Solomon –  over 5 yrs drug free and outstanding service as a graduate,
Gregory Anderson – over 5 yrs drug free,
Emile Reid– over 5 yrs drug free,
Eric Curry – outstanding service as a graduate,
Andrew Lewis – outstanding service as a graduate.

Many who attended this banquet were also at our first launch banquet in 1997!

We're now well past the 10 year mark of ministry to the community by Teen Challenge Jamaica. The vision and passion remains large to reach more young people in need - in every parish of Jamaica.

Through much prayer and fasting this ministry has withstood the rigors of financial constraints, resource needs, public speculations of its effectiveness and has triumphed with many success stories.

Today, TCJ continues to play a significant role in the life and fabric of Jamaica.  Many would have died from their addiction -- it it were not for intervention through this ministry. We give God the glory!
